Pact, An Adoption Alliance, is excited to introduce a six-session LGBTQ parent support group designed to discuss issues and strategies relevant to race, ethnicity, culture, adoption and parenting. This new group series as part of an ongoing partnership between three great Bay Area non-profits:
Each group session will offer LGBTQ parents an opportuntity to explore their feelings about transracial adoptive parenting in a safe and nurturing setting, with a focus on developmentally appropriate approaches to their family's issues. When: Who: Where: Cost: Topics May Include:

California Families The Oakland Museum of California (located at 1000 Oak @ 10th Street) hosts a day of fun for ALL California familieswith a special welcome to those with adopted, foster, mixed-race, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender memberson Sunday, May 11, 12:304:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The Family Explorations! California Families event offers something for everyone:
The California Families program is produced in partnership with Our Family Coalition, Family Builders by Adoption, the City of Oakland, and I-Pride, and with support from the museums new LGBT Task Force. The partner organizations and other local community groups will staff tables with information on family-related services and programs. Mixed Roots Film & Literary Festival 2008 Mixed Chicks Chat is excited to announce the first annual Mixed Roots Film & Literary Festival (TM) will take place this June 12th through the 15th at the state-of-the-art Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, CA. The Mixed Roots Film & Literary Festival will be an annual event celebrating films and literary works exploring racially and culturally Mixed heritages. The Festival is inclusive: anyone who identifies as Mixed, has a trans-racial or trans-cultural adoptive family, or who supports interracial and intercultural relationships is welcome.
